Where Xupport fits as a Zendesk Suite alternative
Pick Xupport when you do not need the Suite marketplace, voice, or Meta channels. You get one queue for live chat, email, and the public form, Markdown articles, and an assistant that must cite those articles or hand off. You pay one workspace price. Growth includes 10 seats and Slack. The public API and signed webhooks are on every plan, including Starter.
Where Zendesk Suite may fit better
Stay on Zendesk Suite if you need a long marketplace of apps, a mature enterprise admin model, or channels Xupport does not ship. Voice, WhatsApp, and Instagram are not in Xupport. Their Suite list prices assume you buy per agent.
Cost example at 10 seats (list prices only)
Zendesk Suite Team annual list is US$55 per agent per month. Ten agents: 10 × US$55 = US$550/mo, before AI resolutions and add-ons. Their monthly-billed page lists US$69/agent (10 × US$69 = US$690/mo).
Xupport Growth is US$129/mo for the workspace, ten seats, and 15,000 AI replies included. Yearly is US$1,290/yr charged once (ten months at the monthly rate).
Those two numbers are not the same product. They are the published list prices you can check on each site. We do not add unpublished discounts or typical-spend guesses.

How cite-or-decline AI works
On Xupport the assistant cites published help articles or uses your handoff line. Workspace owners and admins choose whether visitors see an assistant label. Staff can see which replies the assistant wrote. Zendesk Suite on their public pricing: AI agents billed per resolution (about $1.50–$2.00). Copilot is an add-on.
That is the opposite of paying per AI resolution with no published-article requirement. It only works if you actually publish the answers you already repeat.
