An Intercom alternative with a flat workspace price

Where Xupport fits as a Intercom alternative

Use Xupport if the messenger should open a real ticket, the help center is Markdown you publish, and the assistant is not allowed to invent answers. Copilot drafts stay unsent until a person sends them. Workspace owners and admins choose whether visitors see an assistant label. Staff can see which replies the assistant wrote.

Where Intercom may fit better

Keep Intercom if product tours, outbound series, or Fin billed per outcome sit at the center of how you work. Xupport does not ship series, tours, or a Fin-style usage line.

Cost example at 10 seats (list prices only)

Intercom Essential annual list is US$29 per seat per month. Ten seats: 10 × US$29 = US$290/mo, before Fin outcomes. Their monthly-billed page lists US$39/seat (10 × US$39 = US$390/mo).

Xupport Growth is US$129/mo for ten seats and 15,000 included AI replies. Yearly is US$1,290/yr.

Fin outcomes are extra on Intercom. Xupport AI replies are included up to the plan cap, then the bot pauses.

How cite-or-decline AI works

On Xupport the assistant cites published help articles or uses your handoff line. Workspace owners and admins choose whether visitors see an assistant label. Staff can see which replies the assistant wrote. Intercom on their public pricing: Fin is included as access; you pay per Fin outcome (from about $0.99).

That is the opposite of paying per AI resolution with no published-article requirement. It only works if you actually publish the answers you already repeat.

Switching from Intercom

Fin outcomes and series do not move over. You replace Messenger with the Xupport snippet and publish the articles you want cited.

  1. Create a workspace and run the five-day trial.
  2. Swap the Intercom Messenger snippet for the Xupport widget.
  3. Give people slug@inbound.xupport.io, or forward the mailbox you use today.
  4. Publish two help articles before you turn the assistant on.
  5. On Growth or Scale, link Slack channels in Settings.
  6. Use the public API for any tickets you still need. There is no Intercom importer.
