A Freshdesk alternative that doesn't charge per agent

Freshdesk’s public pricing is per agent — Growth is $19/agent/mo billed annually on their page as of October 2026. Xupport charges one workspace price. Freshchat is a separate product there; here the widget is already a ticket.

Where Xupport fits as a Freshdesk alternative

Choose Xupport for per-workspace pricing, cite-or-decline AI with a hard monthly cap, Slack on the same ticket (Growth and Scale), and a public API on every plan. Help articles are Markdown. A custom hostname for the help center is optional.

Where Freshdesk may fit better

Stay with Freshdesk if you already live in Freshworks, need multilingual helpdesk features listed on Pro, or want Freddy billed per AI session pack. Enterprise on their page is a different SKU with a larger feature list; compare that table, not this page, if you need it.

Cost example at 10 seats (list prices only)

Freshworks lists Freshdesk Growth at US$19 per agent per month billed annually. Ten agents: 10 × US$19 = US$190/mo at that annual list price, before extra Freddy sessions (US$49 per 100 on their page).

Their page also lists Pro at US$55/agent/mo billed annually (10 × US$55 = US$550/mo) and Enterprise at US$89/agent/mo billed annually (10 × US$89 = US$890/mo).

Xupport Growth is US$129/mo for ten seats with 15,000 AI replies included. We did not convert Freshdesk to a monthly-billed number because their public page highlights the annual figures.

How cite-or-decline AI works

On Xupport the assistant cites published help articles or uses your handoff line. Workspace owners and admins choose whether visitors see an assistant label. Staff can see which replies the assistant wrote. Freshdesk on their public pricing: Freddy AI Agent: first 500 sessions included; extra sessions from $49 / 100. Copilot is an add-on on Pro/Enterprise.

Switching from Freshdesk

Email is the usual first move from Freshdesk. Freshchat does not come along — the Xupport widget is a ticket on every plan.

  1. Start a workspace and use the five-day trial.
  2. Forward the Freshdesk mailbox to slug@inbound.xupport.io.
  3. Paste the Xupport widget if you also used Freshchat or another messenger.
  4. Publish articles, then turn the assistant on.
  5. Link Slack in Settings on Growth or Scale.
  6. Recreate anything you still need through the API. There is no Freshdesk importer.
