Pricing
Per seat or per workspace? What a helpdesk really costs
Per-seat helpdesks multiply the published agent price by headcount. Per-workspace helpdesks charge one plan that already includes a seat count. The arithmetic below uses list prices as of October 2026, not discounts.
Last updated 2026-10-09.
TL;DR
- Xupport Growth is US$129/mo for 10 seats.
- Zendesk Suite Team annual list at 10 agents is about US$550/mo (10 × US$55).
- Intercom Essential at 10 seats is about US$290/mo billed annually (10 × US$29), before Fin.
What per-workspace pricing means
On Xupport you pick Starter, Growth, or Scale. That price is the workspace. Starter includes 3 seats at US$49/mo. Growth includes 10 at US$129/mo. Scale includes 25+ at US$399/mo. Adding a person does not add a line item until you need a higher plan.
Yearly is ten months at the monthly rate (two months free): US$490 / US$1,290 / US$3,990 charged once a year.
What per-seat pricing means
Vendors that list a price per agent or per full seat multiply that number by how many people log in. Usage lines (AI resolutions, extra channels) sit on top. The published list price is the floor, not the invoice you will get after usage.
- Zendesk Suite Team: US$55/agent/mo billed annually → 10 × US$55 = US$550/mo before AI add-ons.
- Intercom Essential: US$29/seat/mo billed annually → 10 × US$29 = US$290/mo before Fin outcomes.
- Freshdesk Growth: US$19/agent/mo billed annually → 10 × US$19 = US$190/mo, before extra AI sessions.
- Help Scout Standard: US$25/user/mo billed annually → 10 × US$25 = US$250/mo before AI Answers resolutions.

A 10-person example you can check
Put the same ten people on Xupport Growth: US$129/mo, Slack included, 15,000 AI replies included. Put them on Suite Team annual list: US$550/mo before AI. Put them on Intercom Essential annual list: US$290/mo before Fin. Put them on Freshdesk Growth annual list: US$190/mo before extra Freddy sessions. Put them on Help Scout Standard: US$250/mo before AI Answers.
Those products are not equivalent. The point of the arithmetic is only to show how the billing unit changes the floor. Use the comparison table for chat, email, help center, Slack, and AI behavior.
Shared inbox vs the invoice
A shared inbox is the queue. How you pay for the queue is separate. Xupport’s shared inbox is on every plan. Slack on that inbox is Growth and Scale. If you only need chat, email, help center, and form, Starter is the floor at US$49/mo.
